Why do Lord Hanuman apply vermilion?
Once Pawanaputra Hanuman ji went to the Sun God to study. But Suryadev refuses them saying that they (Suryadev) are always moving and thus unable to donate knowledge to Hanuman ji. Hanuman ji remained the abode of wisdom. He devised a solution that allowed the work of both to go on smoothly. It happened that Suryadev used to go forward and teach Hanuman ji and there, Hanuman ji used to follow Vidya in reverse motion after Suryadev.
But one day when Rahu came to grind Suryadev in his own time, Maruti kicked and chased him, then he brought Indra again. Indra and Hanuman ji clashed and Indra lord's thunderbolt got out of his hand and fell on Hanuman ji's Hanu i.e. chin, which made Hanuman ji fainted and broke his chin. There was an outcry in all three worlds. All the gods arrived. They all blessed Mahavir Ji and rejoined him, keeping the honor of his Hanu. Since then, the world became known as Maruti- Hanuman. And even today, Rahu is afraid of the name of Hanuman.
Sitaram in Mala
After Raj Tilak, some gift was being given to everyone by Lord Shri Ram Ji. Everyone got the gift, but seeing that Hanuman ji was left behind, Mother Sita gave him a pearl necklace from his neck. Hanumanji took that necklace, but after some time, after removing the pearl from it, he would see something in it and then throw it away. In this way, everyone was surprised to see this plight of valuable pearl necklaces, and they were ridiculed by considering it as apes. Then someone asked the reason for his foolish nature. Then Hanumanji said that in these beads he is looking for Lord Shri Ram. Hearing these things, everyone ridiculed them and asked that the God whom they are looking for outside is in their mind? If yes, show it. It was to be heard that Shankar Suvan ripped off his chest and made everyone see the same image of Shri Sitaram Ji in his mind which was present in the court at that time. Everyone was surprised to see this miracle and once again Hanumanji became the star of his Lord's eye due to his low and devotion.
